Suicide Prevention
Safe Messaging for Suicide Postvention
About the training
In this voice-activated immersive learning experience, learners will use Safe Messaging strategies as they navigate nuanced conversations in the aftermath of a suicide death.
At the start of this scenario, you learn that a member of your unit has died by suicide. After hearing about the postvention process taken by command leadership, you have the opportunity to check in on a coworker and then a close friend of the deceased. As you do, you’ll practice choosing language and strategies that fit with Safe Messaging techniques and assessing which–if any–resources would be appropriate to connect these team members to for support.
