About the training
This immersive, voice-activated virtual reality experience equips learners with communication strategies for successful reintegration of team members following incidents of suicide-related behavior. Learners practice conversations that use objective language, honor privacy, and create supportive environments to reduce stigma around mental health care. Through practical application, they experience the importance of language and subtle messaging as means of improving command climate and preventing suicide-related behavior in the future.
Scenario:
Set in a military environment, the learner engages one teammate in conversation before she returns to work after receiving outpatient treatment and then engages another teammate when overhearing inappropriate comments about suicide-related behavior.
