About the training
In this immersive, voice-activated, virtual-reality learning experience, learners explore the skills of providing peer support to fellow service members experiencing stress from major life changes, family challenges, and workplace pressures. Through realistic conversations, learners practice recognizing signs of distress and providing meaningful support that helps peers access resources and feel less isolated during challenging times. They’ll learn to apply the OSCAR communication framework (Observe, State, Clarify, Ask, Respond) to identify when teammates are struggling and engage in meaningful supportive conversations, and work with the understanding that this kind of engagement supports team cohesion and mission success.
Scenario:
This experience allows learners to choose between peer support scenarios relevant to their rank. They’ll have the chance to recognize signs of distress and approach the peer in off-hours to inquire about a recent move, family, and/or financial difficulties that may be affecting them and their work.
