Results: Indiana Department of Child Services
With Accenture, Indiana's Department of Child Services piloted Moth+Flame VR job previews. Candidates experienced difficult home visits, including an intoxicated parent and a visibly injured child. Of 119 candidates who took part, 59 received offers, 32 accepted and 26 stayed. First-year turnover fell from 53% to 19%.
Beyond hiring
Experienced staff used the same simulations to reflect on their decisions and spot their own biases. 81% of participants set more realistic job expectations, and 47% reported better recognition of their own bias.
